Grandma's Best Ever Buns

This is my Grandma's Bun Recipe and she was known for them. I make them all the time, and with the help of a kitchen aid they are so easy. If you set them by your coffee maker to raise (assuming that you have it on) they will raise very quickly! Makes two 9X13 pans of buns! For just a little extra work...you can use half for buns, and make the other half into cinnamon rolls for the next morning. I will add the instructions for that at the bottom of the Bread Recipe. If the smell and taste of these don't make you feel like Betty ~ Nothing will!

Grandma's Best Ever Buns

In a 2 Cup measuring cup Mix Together:

1/2 Cup of extremely HOT Tap water
1 Tablespoon Sugar
3 Packages of yeast (3 Tablespoons)

Take a fork and mix this well and let set to raise to a full cup or more.

In Mixing bowl:

1/2 Cup Oil
3 Cups Hot Water
3/4 Cup of Sugar minus one Tablespoon used previously
1 Teaspoon Salt
2 Eggs

Mix this together and then add the yeast mixture to it. Add only 1/2 of the flour at a time.

9 Cups of Flour - May need a little more if you dough is too sticky

MIX WELL!

Place in a greased bowl and top of dough. Cover with a tea towel and let raise till dough doubles in size. Punch down and let raise again.

Make into buns and place in a Greased 9x13 pan - let raise again. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 10-12 min. or until golden brown. Butter tops while still warm.

CINNAMON ROLLS:

After second time raising...Roll out and on a flat floured surface and Butter top of rectangular shaped dough generously and sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar. Roll up and cut 1 1/4 Slices off the end and place in prepared 9x13 pan. To prepare pan - melt 1 stick of butter in the bottom of pan and sprinkle with brown sugar evenly. Bake at same temp as above until brown and be sure to check center ones to make sure they are done. Frost as desired!
